Every woman has high expectations for motherhood - the experience of having or raising a child in the best way possible, but it is messier than we think. Sleep deprivation, emotional distress, stress, etc., deprive moms from enjoying the motherhood period.
The reason you don't enjoy this phase in your life isn't only about the kids but also our habits, beliefs, and thoughts about motherhood in general. The hack to a healthy motherhood is the mindset.

#1. High Expectations
As a mom, you expect everything to work out as you planned. You want your children's room tidy and clean, the bathroom sparkling clean, and the living room not littered with toys.
Unfortunately, motherhood works otherwise. It requires patience and low expectations. Keep your expectations low to make it easy on yourself. You don't have to beat up on yourself if the whole room is untidy after cleaning it up.
Motherhood is a 24/7 routine. Things won't usually go according to plan. For instance, your children can have a take-out instead of a full three-square meal. Don't blame yourself.
#2. You Take Issues Personally
Children can provoke you for an entire day. It isn't very pleasant. They can do something embarrassing in public. You don't have to take it personally.
Take it easy as you train your children to be better adults. Children need time to learn and unlearn; taking issues personally is the last thing you should do as a mom.
#3. You Take Everyone's advice
As a first-time mom, you will receive advice from people about motherhood. However, it directly affects our thought patterns. If you are fed with the impression that motherhood is easy, you won't enjoy that period.
At least once, you have been to a friend's house, and you love how she takes care of her kids, so you think motherhood is easy. No, it is not.
Don't compare yourself with other moms. Take your time to learn and enjoy the process.
#5. You Multitask Often
You love being a mom but need to be easy on yourself. You don't have to multitask when you can delegate the house chores to your partner.
You can take care of the children while your partner takes care of the dishes. Focus on a single task to avoid workload. You will find motherhood less overwhelming.
#6. Don't Allow One Wrong Moment Ruin Your Day
You are easily overwhelmed when things don't turn out as they should. For instance, you planned to spend quality time during the summer vacation, but it didn't work out well. You don't allow that single moment to ruin your time with your children. Forgive yourself and enjoy the rest of the vacation.
#7. You Love To Be In Control
Another reason you aren't enjoying motherhood is that you love to be in control of every single aspect of your children's life. Demanding total control always backfires. Remember the only person we can take full control of is ourselves. Children need the freedom to explore and make mistakes. As a mom, you should let go of controlling situations. Embrace the idea that whatever happens, you can't control its outcome.
There are many challenges moms face, and it makes it difficult for them to enjoy the motherhood phase. You may not enjoy your motherhood as you would have wished and that's ok. Ensure that you create time for pleasure as much as you want since these will guarantee you memorable moments in your motherhood journey.
